Jan Huling

Remember the Blythe doll I wrote about before, well once while I was looking for pictures of Blythe I found this, not the goth girl statue it's the Blythe that looks like an avatar.

I had to find out more about the artist so I typed Jan huling into the search bar and guess what came up? This! I was so inspired I made this. Then I sent Jan an Email with pictures of my Beading work. I asked her what to bead next and she said "that you can bead just about anything"So everybody go cover stuff in little beads!

Isn't fashion confusing?

Don't get me wrong fashion is all I ever think about I love fashion but it still confuses me. Like all the french names are so hard to pronounce just today I found out that I had been pronouncing Miuccia from Miuccia prada, Dolce from dolce&gabbana, Tisci from riccardo tisci and Givenchy all wrong. In high school I am defiantly taking french. Also I have decided to try to make 1 or 2 outfits for each fashion season so I was looking at the months in which different collections come out and I found that SPRING ready to wear comes out in OCTOBER and FALL couture comes out in the middle of summer. I think I will just make clothes when it makes sense like pre-fall in August and spring couture in may.

This picture reminds me I was going to do a little red riding hood magazine spread using fall 2010 couture dresses.

My latest designs

My new favorite designer (for now)

I used to dislike Miu Miu because The ill looking makeup in pre-fall 2010, The latest resort collection, the sporty inspiration in resort 2010 small things like that, but when I was looking for Miu Miu store locations on Miu Miu.com and I saw this wonderful video that completely changed my mind. Now Miu Miu is one of my favorite design brands. And if the video didn't change your mind look at the rest of the website, there's pictures, videos, It's great! I'll probably post new favorite designers soon, maybe I will post favorite designers monthly, or not.

So for my birthday I got an awesome book called Blythe style. It has beautiful and wired pictures of Blythe modeling costume clothes by designers like Gucci, Prada , John Galliano and versace. It's a great book get at the library if you can or buy it on amazon or Ebay.

So I was looking through the book at pictures when I noticed how much this Katsuhiko Hibino outfit looks like Belinciaga spring 2008. Doesn't it look Exactly the same save that it's made of Japanese candy boxes?! I will probably blog about Blythe more some other time.

I saw similar ones on the yokoo Etsy store. And Tavi has a necklace with almost exactly the same elephant! Maybe they where made buy the same person! So I would really like to know more about these necklaces, is there some famous person that made them that I don't know about yet?, or are they an ancient tradition from Africa? Where they a big fashion accessory from the 80's If you know anything about them please tell I'm very interested!

Royalty

I didn't know what to blog about today so I was searching for pictures and I found some Vivian westwood pictures so I'm posting pictures of royalty-like clothes and fashion. Philip Tracey hat in Alexander McQueen collection. I usually think that hat is really odd and it even makes a model look short(and models are known for being tall)but it looks good in this picture.
Alexander McQueen fall 2011 ready to wear collection. The room is so (I was going to say cool but I use that word too much and I don't even like it!)mysterious the way it looks like it's just flouting there.
Stephan Jones hats. I don't understand why Stephan Jones would make a paper hat when he is so talented. It would have been nice if I could have added the picture of that wire frame crown with the little red and white lights that would be pretty.
Mia Wasikowska. I just like the lace on her dress, It sorta goes along with the theme yes?
A chandelier in the kensington palace decorated whit silver/gold manikin. The glasses on the manikin remind me of a mad scientist.
A Vivienne Westwood gown Kensingnton palace staircase. Beautiful gown makes me think of the gowns in the end of Louis vitton fall 2010.
Good Bye!

Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!

Beautiful Chanel couture shoes. Garden shoes
I love all the detail. Someone must have been working days on them!
Starry morning
The pattern and colors look like stars in the morning, which would be really pretty.
scaly shoe
All the sequins make it look like fish scales.beautiful fish scales too!
flowers
The texture and design reminds me off a fancy floral carpet.
The golden shoe
This shoe looks like it was painted in gold and after a while it started to chip.
Lot's of pearls
this shoe was the one I didn't like that much. It looks like Pearl fishnet tights cut at sock length and worn over boots.
Metal boot
Each one of thies shoes looked like a metal sculpture!

Haute couture

I had a pair of sun glasses that where a little small and looked weird so last night I got some lace and glued little pieces on the lenses, the end result was something lady gaga would wear,But they are really nice. So I was wearing them today while looking at the new couture 2010 collections on style.com and givinchy (one of my favorite designers since that resort collection) made a collection inspired by skeletons (not what I would have used as inspiration). The collection was so intricate and beautiful I had to take off my lace covered glasses to get a better look. look at the rest of the collection here.

Also see the Alexis Mabille collection I love how there is a gown version and a suit version of each look. And the lace and ruffles were very 1900s I like it.

Another one to see is Christian Dior. I know John Galliano is crazy and costume but this is over the top even for him! I had to take off my glasses for this too.

It's the bikini's birthday

Today in Paris 1946 Louis Reard a mechanical engineer introduced the bikini to the world. Louis Reard said that the bikini could fit through a wedding ring and was smaller than the worlds smallest bathing suit. The bikini could fit into the box in the model's hand in the photo below.
Also today is Adam Young's birthday so listen to some owl city music on YouTube!

Happy 4th!

Sometimes it seems all the best fashion, people, art and places are in Europe; Chanel, Twiggy, Picasso, Paris, but today is July 4th a day to notice the good things about America. So I put together a collection of some of America's best.

Alexander Wang spring 2010 .

Michiel Obama in Jason Wu inauguration gown.

Gwen Stefanie one of my favorite American singers.

I was looking for a picture of the first pair of blue jeans but instead I found a famous American actor Farrah Fawcet wearing them, even better!

Jackson Pollock painting.
Child playing with her Barbie one of the best known toys in America.
Marilyn Monroe American style icon.
Josephine baker a singer, dancer known for her amazing costumes and (at the time) weird dance moves.

A replica of the Statue of liberty in New York.I know I know its french but still.

Please feel free to add other bests of America in the comments.

McQueen!

I have been waiting for the Alexander McQueen resort collection for ever and once I lost hope of it coming out and stopped checking resort on style.com it came! I'm really exited! so here it is... The kimono inspiration is great! The armor like embellished top is very cool but the stretch velvet looks costume to me.

I love the detailing on the side of the skirt, very McQueen. I think that Sarah Burton is doing a good job expanding the legacy of Alexander McQueen.
